is it L= 4.87
because the square root of 2 is 1.41
1.41 times 3 is 4.23 - 3 is 1.23
6 divided by 1.23 is 4.88
i know it barely has anythin yo do with surds but i got confused and decided to do it the non-surds way........... Sad

I think it's 2√2 +2 (cm)

because 6cm² = (3√2 -3) × L

so L = 6 ÷ (3√2 -3)

6 /(3√2 -3) = 6(3√2 +3) /(3√2 -3)(3√2 +3)

= (18√2 +18) /18 -9 = (18√2 +18) /9 = 2√2 +2

∴ L = 2√2 +2 (cm)
